For being the head game warden, he was actually incredibly lax about the conservation of wildlife. It was no wonder they had to hire me.

Eyüp Peygamber'in sabrı ve ödüllendirilmesi konusu Tevratta 1040 satırlık şiir halinde yazılmış, Sumer'de de "İnsan ve Onun Tanrısı" adlı şiir aynı konuyu kapsıyor, çeşitli felaketlere uğrayan bir adam sabır ederek Tanrılara yaptığı dualar ve yakarışlarla bunlardan kurtuluyor, eski sağlık ve zenginliğine kavuşuyor.⁵
Ilginç olanı 1846'da bir Amerikalı tarafından yazılan bir kitapta, Tevrattaki bu şiirin Musevilere ait olamayacağı, başka bir dilden aktarmış olduklarını yazması. En az yüzyıl sonra bunun Sumerlilerden alındığı kanıtlandı.⁶
Kur'an'da bu konu iki sure içinde on beş ayette (Enbiya Suresi, ayet 81-94; Sad Suresi, ayet 41-44) kısa olarak yazılmasına rağmen, dert ve üzüntülerin sabır ve Allah'a duayla giderileceği, eski varlığa kavuşulacağı bildiriliyor.
